On Thursday, July 24 (local time), the Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency (BCPA) denied them entry after they failed to fulfill the necessary conditions for arrival.
BCPA Director General Datuk Seri Mohammad Shuhailey Mohammad Zain stated that the individuals would be deported under the "Not to Land" protocol. The respective airlines will be responsible for returning them to their home countries.
According to a report published by Malaysia's national news agency Bernama on Friday, July 25, a total of 128 individuals were detained from Terminal 1 on Thursday. Among them were 123 Bangladeshis, two Pakistanis, two Indonesians, and one Syrian. The remaining 70 individuals were stopped at Terminal 2, including 51 Indonesians, 13 Indians, four Pakistanis, and two Vietnamese nationals.
Authorities inspected the documents of around 200 people on suspicion of misusing their travel visas. Issues noted during questioning included unclear answers, fake hotel bookings, and insufficient funds in Malaysian Ringgit.
Mohammad Shuhailey warned that operations will continue to prevent Malaysia from being used as a transit hub for illegal entry.
