Army Chief calls July Upsurge milestone in Bangladesh history

Dhaka, March 25 - Bangladesh Army Chief, General Waker-Uz-Zaman gas described the July mass uprising as a landmark event in the nation’s history.

He made these remarks during a ceremony to honor the July warriors at the Army Multipurpose Complex in Dhaka on Tuesday.

The Army Chief referred to the warriors who participated in the July Uprising as a source of national pride.

He highlighted the role of the youth in the movement, saying, “The youth not only participated but also inspired us by demonstrating how to make just claims and achieve them through truth and righteousness.”

He added that the Bangladesh Army has always been supportive of the July fighters in fulfilling their dreams.

“We have always been with the people in times of war and peace, and we will continue to stand by the motherland for the future, just as we have in the past,” General Waker-Uz-Zaman reaffirmed.

Expressing hope for the country’s future, he urged everyone to work together towards that vision, saying, “If we all unite with these values, this country will reach the pinnacle of prosperity and become a happy, prosperous nation.”

During the ceremony, the Bangladesh Army provided financial assistance to the families of those injured or martyred in the July uprising. - UNB
