Prime Minister Tarique Rahman today unveiled a commemorative postage stamp on the occasion of the National Rural Development Day 2026.

With the theme 'Developed Villages, Prosperous Nation: Bangladesh First", the Prime Minister unveiled the postage stamp at his Cabinet Division Office in the Bangladesh Secretariat this morning, said Prime Minister Deputy Secretary Md Suzauddhowla (Sujon Mahmud)

A commemorative postage stamp of Taka 10, a first-day cover and a Taka 5 data card were released on the occasion.

Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, State Minister Mir Shahe Alam and Secretary of the Ministry Md Shahidul Hasan were present on the occasion.

To mark National Rural Development Day, observed on July 6, the Bangladesh Post Office releases special commemorative postage stamps, first-day covers and data cards every year.

The initiative aims to recognise the contribution of rural economy and rural development to the country and highlight the significance of the day among the public, reports BSS.
