Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Wednesday released a commemorative postage stamp marking National Revolution and Solidarity Day, observed on November 7.

The Tk10 stamp was released alongside a Tk10 inaugural cover and a Tk5 data card at a ceremony held at the Prime Minister's Office at the Secretariat in the morning, Deputy Press Secretary Hasan Shiplu said.

The prime minister signed the commemorative stamp and inaugural cover before officially releasing them with a special postmark.

Issued by Bangladesh Post, the stamp will be available for purchase at post offices across the country.

Post and Telecommunications Minister Fakir Mahbub Anam, Post and Telecommunications Division Secretary Md Kamruzzaman, and Bangladesh Post Director General Kazi Asadul Islam attended the ceremony.

National Revolution and Solidarity Day commemorates the civil-military uprising of November 7, 1975. The day will be observed across the country on Saturday.

On October 5, the Cabinet approved a proposal to declare November 7 a public holiday every year to mark the occasion.
