Death of Dr SA Samad mourned

Dhaka July 28: The members of the Mujibnagar and Freedom Fighter Officers and Employees Association are in shock and mourning over the death of its President Dr. S A Samad. Innalillahe Wa Inna Ilaihe Rajiun.

“He was the organizer of the liberation war in 1971 and immensely contributed as one of the Freedom Fighter Officers who joined the Government of Bangladesh-in-exile in Mujibnagar,” said Secretary General Muhammad Musa.

“He was a man who was truly loved and admired within and outside the organization. On behalf of all the members, Mr. Musa expressed the deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathy to his family and pray for the salvation of his departed soul.

Dr. S A Samad was deemed to be the inspiration and guiding light of the freedom fighters for last five decades. After the of Bangabandhu on 15th August 1975, he was the inspiration to all the Freedom Fighters and Employees of the Republic. He also organized pro-liberation people of Bangladesh to resist the killers all over the country.

Under his guidance, we also brought unity of all the pro-liberation Officers and Employees of the Republic to campaign against the Marshal-Law government of General Ziaur Rahman and General Ershad. He continuously gave a creative leadership among the Freedom Fighter Officers and Employees and all kinds of pro-liberation minded of the Officers and Employees in general of the government.

Mr. Musa said, “Dr. S A Samad will be remembered as a valiant Freedom Fighter and one of the charismatic and patriotic Civil Servants of Bangladesh. He was a gentleman in every sense, who fought bravely for this country in 1971. He initiated campaign and struggle against army rulers and dictators of this country and ensured their downfall and helped brought back the democratic pro-liberation government in Bangladesh.”
