Covid claims 19 more lives in Khulna division

Khulna division has logged 19 new Covid-related deaths in the last 24 hours until Saturday morning.



Khulna, July 31 :  Khulna division has logged 19 new Covid-related deaths in the last 24 hours until Saturday morning as the Delta variant of the deadly virus continues wreck havoc across the country.

According to the health director's office, four people died in Khulna, five in Kushtia, three each in Jashore and Jhenaidah districts, two in Chuadanga and one each in Bagerhat and Meherpur, district.

Besides, some 571 new Covid infections have been detected in 10 districts of the division in the past 24 hours, pushing up the total cases to 92,932.

The total death toll in the division has now reached 2,338, said the officials.

Earlier, 34 people died of Covid-19 in the division on Friday while 793 people were found infected with the virus

In Khulna division, the first case of Covid-19 was detected in Chuadanga on March 19, 2020.

So far, 68,786 people have been recovered in the division, reports UNB.
