20 people die in collision between two trains in Kishoreganj

At least twenty people were killed and scores injured in a collision between a passenger train and a freight train at Bhairab Rail Station in Kishoreganj district on Monday, officials said.
The accident occurred at 3:30 pm when the Dhaka-bound ‘Godhuli Express’ train of Egarosindhu collided head-on with a Chattogram-bound freight train. Twelve bodies have so far been recovered, said Mosharraf Hossain, duty officer of Bhairab Fire Service and Civil Defense.
Following the accident, the train communication of Kishoreganj with other parts of the country remained suspended.
A team of firefighting units rushed to the spot and is conducting the rescue operation, Mosharraf told UNB.
The deceased could not be immediately identified.
