Ctg AL leader Dr Ekhlas passes away



Chattogram, Nov 27 - Dr Md Ekhlas Uddin, a veteran Awami League leader of Chattogram north district unit and a freedom fighter, died at a hospital in the port city on Monday. He was 85.

He was the former vice president of the AL north district unit.

The veteran Awami League leader of Chattogram north district unit will be buried at family graveyard in Paschim Bahrampur village under Baraiyar Dala union in Sitakunda upazila after two namaz-Janazas on Monday.

He performed duty as an in-charge at Harina Medical Camp in Harirampur upazila of Manikganj during the Liberation War. in 1971.

After the country’s freedom, he joined privately-owned ‘Chattogram Chemical Complex’ as chief physician and worked there for 28 years.

Dr Md Ekhlas Uddin left behind five daughters and a host of relatives and well-wishers.

Different political and social organisations expressed deep shock at the death of the freedom fighter.-UNB
