After beef prices declined by around Tk 200 per kg, prices of other alternative protein sources such as eggs, broiler chicken, and fish have been on a decline over the last one and a half weeks across the country.

After visiting some of the kitchen markets in Mirpur area, this correspondent found that beef is sold at a price of Tk600-650. Local chickens are being sold at Tk530-550 per kilogram while broiler at Tk160 to Tk170.
Cultured fish prices have also declined, with prices falling by Tk 50-80 a kg in the last two weeks. Rui fishes are being sold at Tk300-450 per kg depending on sizes while, Hilsha fish at Tk600-1200.
The price of some vegetables has fallen very slightly. Potato is being sold at Tk45-50 per kg, cucumber at Tk50-70, pointed gourd at Tk 60-70 and green chilies at Tk110-140.
Masum, a fish trader said that prices of all types of fishes have dropped. So, the selling is going in better mode.
