Dhaka, Feb 12-England's swashbuckling opener Alex Hales will join Khulna Tigers in the Chttaogram part of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) for only two matches, the officials confirmed.

The England opener who was playing International League (IL) T20 in UAE is scheduled to join Khulna tent tonight (Monday) in Chattogram. He will partner West Indies hard-hitter Evin Lewis in opening position for Khulna.

The duo is highly likely to open the innings in Khulna next match against table topper Rangpur Riders tomorrow (Tuesday) at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury
Stadium in Chattogram. Hales will play only two matches before leaving Bangladesh.

Hales so far played eight matches in BPL and scored 304 runs at a staggering strike rate of 167. He also hit century in BPL in 2019 when he was the part of Rangpur Riders.

Hales' inclusion came at a moment when Khulna were struggling to get their rhythm back after conceding three straight defeats. However before this ongoing losing-curse, they won first four matches in a row.

Apart from Hales, Khulna also recruited South African fast bowler Wayne Parnel but due to visa complicacy, he is yet to join the side. Parnel was the part of Pretoria Capitals in SA T20 tournament, which ended yesterday.

West Indies allrounder Jason Holder also is likely to join Khulna at the business end of the tournament. England's Phil Salt and West Indies' Romari Shepherd are supposed to join Chattogram Challengers to play the BPL.
