Dhaka, Apr 8 - Saudi Arabia and Australia will celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr on Wednesday, April 10.

Tuesday, April 9, will be the last day of Ramadan, and Wednesday will be the first day of Shawwal, marking the first day of Eid-ul-Fitr, according to Saudi media, reports Gulf News.

Australia announced Wednesday as the first day of Eid, which marks the end of Ramadan and the start of the month of Shawwal.

Following verification with local and international observatories, the Australian Fatwa Council has confirmed that the new moon will appear on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at particular times in Sydney and Perth. As a result, the concluding day of Ramadan will be Tuesday, April 9, 2024, with Eid Al Fitr falling on Wednesday, April 10, added the report.

Due to Bangladesh's time difference of 3 hours ahead of Saudi Arabia the new moon is not visible on the same day in the two countries and Eid in Bangladesh is generally held one day after the celebration in Saudi Arabia.

However, a section of devotees like those in ASEAN countries and some villages in Bangladesh celebrate the Eid along with the devotees of Saudi Arabia. – GreenWatch News Desk
