DSCC fines 7 unauthorised rawhide traders



Dhaka, June 18 - Dhaka South City Corporation has fined seven seasonal hide traders a total of Tk 27,000 taka.

The fines were imposed following reports of public inconvenience caused by trucks and vans parked on the roads and unauthorised transactions of rawhides in Dhaka’s Science Lab and Joy Kali Temple areas on Tuesday, according to a press release

Mohammad Shofiqul Islam, the Regional Executive Officer and Executive Magistrate of Zone-1, led the operation, issuing fines amounting to Tk 21,000 across five cases. The penalties were enforced between 3:30 PM and 4:15 PM on Tuesday in the Mirpur Road area near Science Lab and Labaid Hospital.

In a separate operation, Mohammad Sakawat Hossain Sarker, Regional Executive Officer and Executive Magistrate of Zone-5, fined two traders a total of Tk 6,000 for similar offenses near the Joy Kali Temple.-UNB
