Newly appointed Canadian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Lilly Nicholls today said she would convey Bangladesh's demand to her government to deport Nur Chowdhury, a convicted killer of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

She made the pledge during a courtesy call on Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen at foreign ministry here.

“Canada will work in partnership with the people and government of Bangladeshi to secure prosperity for both nations, as Bangladesh has moved towards middle-income status,” she said.

During the meeting, the foreign minister and the envoy discussed about 50-year bilateral ties between Bangladesh and Canada, reports BSS.
