Coordinator Mahfuj made special assistant to Prof Yunus

Mahfuj Alam, chief coordinator of the Liaison Committee of Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, has been appointed as special assistant to the interim government’s Chief Advisor Dr Muhammad Yunus.

“With the status of a secretary on a contractual basis, Mahfuj Alam would remain in office for the duration of the chief adviser’s term or subject to his satisfaction from the date of his joining”, according to a gazette notification issued by the public administration ministry today.

Other terms of this appointment would be determined by the approved contract, read the notification, adding, “The order was issued in the public interest”.

Mahfuj Alam, hailed from Ramgonj upazila in Lakhsmipur district, completed his graduation and post-graduation from Dhaka University’s Law department.
