Driver of truck that killed 5 in Cumilla held

RAB detained the driver of the truck that hit an auto-rickshaw leaving five people dead in Burichang upazila from Kaneshtala in Sadar Dakkhin upazila early Sunday.



Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) detained the driver of the truck that hit an auto-rickshaw leaving five people dead in Burichang upazila from Kaneshtala in Sadar Dakkhin upazila of Cumilla district early Sunday.
The detainee is Rakibul Hasan Rony, 19, of Mirpur village in Burichang upazila.
Tipped off, a team of Rab-1 conducted a drive in the area and detained Rony, said Company Commandar of RAB-11, Major Mohammad Sakib Hossain.
Rony has no driving liscense, he said.
Earlier on Friday, five people were killed when a truck hit a CNG run-auto-rickshaw at Sinduria in Burichang upazila.
A case was filed in this connection.
