DU VC Returns After 7-Day Official Visit to China

Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan has returned to Bangladesh after completing a 7-day official visit to China.


During his visit, Dr. Khan participated in various meetings and exchange programs at universities and institutions, including the World Chinese Language Conference in Beijing and the joint Board Meeting of the Confucius Institute in Kunming, according to a DU press release.

The conference, attended by 2,000 delegates from 160 countries, included government officials, school principals, experts, scholars, teachers, students, and diplomats.

In Yunnan, Dr. Khan engaged in high-level meetings and bilateral discussions with Yunnan University officials to strengthen ongoing academic and research collaborations between Dhaka University and Yunnan University. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed to formalize these efforts.

The VC also exchanged knowledge and held talks with officials from the Institute of International and Regional Studies, the School of International Chinese Language Education, and various other Chinese institutions.

Dr. Khan's visit was facilitated by invitations from the Vice-President of Yunnan University, the Director-General of the Center for Language Education and Cooperation, the Secretary-General of the Chinese International Education Foundation, and the President of the International Society for Chinese Language Teaching.
