Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, has vowed that the party's relentless fight against extortion and land encroachment will persist until true justice is achieved in Bangladesh. His remarks came during a workers' conference organized by the district and metropolitan branches of Jamaat at the historic Madrasa Maidan in Rajshahi on Saturday.

Dr. Rahman emphasized the sacrifices of countless individuals throughout the country’s history, particularly those who lost their lives in the battle against corruption and misrule. “Why did our children shed so much blood? It was to rid this society of corruption and tyranny,” he stated.

Honoring the martyrs who fought for the country’s freedom and justice, he said, “We are indebted to those who gave their blood for the environment we live in today. We must carry this debt for the rest of our lives.” He also recalled the brutal events of the July-August uprising, where innocent lives were lost, with bodies piled onto trucks and burned in an attempt to erase their memory. "The suffering endured during those days will never be forgotten, and we will never be able to repay their sacrifices," Dr. Rahman added.

Speaking about the role of his party in the nation’s struggles, he said, “We are the party of the martyrs. They are our national assets, and we will forever hold them in reverence. No conspiracy will ever succeed against this nation as long as we have such brave individuals.”

Dr. Rahman further emphasized that the establishment of true justice in Bangladesh can only be achieved through the implementation of Quranic principles. “We are committed to building a Bangladesh that is free from discrimination, corruption, and extortion, and founded upon the values of justice as outlined in the Quran,” he declared. “For this, we must continue our fight. The road ahead requires sacrifices, and while life is short, the task ahead is immense. We cannot afford to rest.”

The Jamaat Ameer also strongly criticized the previous government for its treatment of scholars and political opponents, accusing it of persecuting those who stood against injustice. “For 15 years, the previous government waged atrocities against scholars. They silenced dissent, forcibly disappeared 11 of our leaders, including two Ameers, and destroyed livelihoods, leaving the people with no hope of staying in the country,” Dr. Rahman said.

Professor Mujibur Rahman, Naib-e-Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami, was the special guest at the conference. The event was presided over by Rajshahi Metropolitan Jamaat Ameer, Dr. Md Keramat Ali, with Imaz Uddin Mondal, Metropolitan Jamaat Secretary, moderating the gathering. Central and regional leaders of Jamaat also delivered speeches, reaffirming the party's commitment to its cause.
