Dhaka, 17 Feb - The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) President Faruque Ahmed today held a meeting with the former captains of the country to know their opinions and suggestions on how to take the country's cricket forward.

It was the former captain's first meeting with the BCB president, who was
also a former captain.

Gazi Ashraf Hossain Lipu, Minhazul Abedin Nannu, Habibul Bashar Sumon, Rajin
Saleh, Mohammad Ashraful, Liton Das, Mominul Haque were present during the
meeting along with others.

"We came here after getting the invitation of the BCB president Faruque Bhai.
We mainly talked about the BPL...On how the BPL should run and how cricket
can be improved, we talked about all these things," former captain Rajin
Saleh said after the meeting.

"We five or six captains were present and two or three were connected through
zoom," Rajin added.

He said the talks revolved around the improvement of the domestic cricket and
infrastructure facilities also.

"We also talked about NCL T20 and domestic cricket. We talked about how to
bring better franchises to the BPL in the future and how to have a good
tournament."

"Actually, time was short. Faruque Bhai said he will invite us again for
further discussion. Above all, the discussion was how to take Bangladesh
cricket forward."

BCB Director Nazmul Abedin Fahim, who was with president during the meeting,
said they exchanged the views with the captains in a bid to improve the
cricket further.

"We exchanged some views during the meeting. The BPL is over, we discussed
that," Fahim said.

"Our current cricketers Liton Das and Mominul Haque were also here. They know
the current state of cricket best."

Fahim said: "Each captain gave their own opinions in their own way, where we
can improve, where changes are needed or where we are not doing so well.
These things were discussed elaborately."

"The board will definitely give great importance to this discussion and some
decisions will be made based on it, which we may see in the coming days."BSS
