Information and Broadcasting Adviser Mahfuz Alam announced today that the government has adopted a strict zero-tolerance policy towards any form of social instability or anarchy in the country. Speaking at a media briefing on law and order at the Law Ministry conference room, Mahfuz emphasized that the government will take firm action against all forms of crime, including mob justice, regardless of the perpetrator's religion, caste, or gender.

“Anyone involved in criminal activities or mob violence will face legal consequences,” he stated, underlining the government's commitment to upholding the rule of law.

The briefing, which focused on the country’s law and order situation, was also attended by Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Adviser Dr. Asif Nazrul, and Home Adviser Lt. Gen. (Retd) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury.

Mahfuz further explained that, moving forward, the government will adopt a more stringent approach to dealing with any instances of anarchy or mob violence, ensuring that such acts are swiftly addressed.

He also highlighted the government's intention to engage with media professionals in the near future to discuss strategies for raising public awareness about maintaining law and order. “We plan to hold meetings with media personnel to explore how we can work together to better inform the public on these crucial issues,” he said.

In addition, Mahfuz suggested that the government may collaborate with the Ministry of Culture to design awareness campaigns, including video initiatives, to educate citizens on the importance of upholding law and order in the community.
