Ishraque calls off sit-in at Kakrail

BNP leader Engineer Ishraque Hossain has called off sit-in programme in Kakrail describing the High Court decision as a victory of the rule of law.


“The agitation has been suspended for now. If the court decision is not implemented immediately, we will again take to the street near Jamuna- Chief Adviser’s residence.

Ishraque was addressing the party workers in front of the chief adviser's residence Jamuna thia afternoon.

He said, It’s a complete victory for grassroots leaders and activists of BNP and Dhaka dwellers as they have achieved their rights.

"We respect the rule of law. We hope that the interim government will immediately implement the court decision without delaying even a single day,” he said.

Apologizing for the suffering caused by the movement, Ishraque said one day the people will understand why we waged the movement.
