Govt approves 11 ordinances, three proposals

The Advisory Council today gave final and in principal approval to drafts of 11 ordinances and three proposals with Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus in the chair at his office here.


At the meeting, the Advisory Council approved drafts of the National Data Governance Ordinance-2025, the Personal Data Protection Ordinance-2025, the Deposit Protection Ordinance-2025, the Mymensingh Unnayan Kartripakkha Ordinance-2025, Barishal Unnayan Kartripakkha Ordinance-2025 and Rangpur Unnayan Kartripakkha Ordinance-2025.

The Council also approved drafts of the Customs Act, 2023 (Amendment) Ordinance, 2025, the Value Added Tax and Supplementary Duty Act, 2012 (Second Amendment) Ordinance, 2025, the Income Tax Act, 2023 (Amendment) Ordinance, 2025, the Cyber ??Security (Amendment) Ordinance, 2025 and Civil Courts (Amendment) Ordinance, 2025. 

The Council approved a proposal placed by the Finance Ministry to establish a bank merging five Shariah-based Islami Banks through a resolution as well.

It also approved two more proposals on issuing Continuous Discharge Certificate (Cadet CDC) to those who have passed Diploma in Marine Engineering from six Institutes of Marine Technology (IMT) under the Bureau of Manpower Employment and Training (BMET) and recognizing Livestock Week as 'National Livestock Week' and observing it in mid-November every year, reports BSS.
