Three more new national records on 3rd day

Dhaka, 22 Oct-Three more new national records have been set on 

the third day of the Max Group 34th National Swimming, Diving and Water Polo 
Competition held at National Swimming Complex in Mirpur today (Wednesday).

Promising swimmer Samiul Islam Rafi of Bangladesh Navy, who already set six 
new national records in the first two day of the competition, continued his 
record-breaking spree adding another record in his name in the men's 100m 
backstroke event. He improved his own best timing 00:57.95 seconds to surpass 
his 2023 previous mark of 00:85.45 seconds.

Tanmoy Mali broke Sukumar Rajbonshi's 2022 record in the men's 50m breast 
stroke, touching the wall at 00:29.59 seconds, well ahead of Sukumar's 
00:29.90 seconds.

In the women's event, Bangladesh Navy comprising Anny, Rupa, Juthi and Tumpa 
set the new national record in the 4x200m free style relay surpassing 
Junaina, Soniya, Mahfuza and Tumpa's 2019 record of 09:52.09 seconds. 

After three days of competition, in total, fifteen new national records were 
set over the last three days of the meet.

Bangladesh Navy continued to dominate the medal tally with 27 gold, 20 
silver, and 10 bronze medals, followed by Bangladesh Army with nine gold, 16 
silver, and 23 bronze. BKSP occupied third place with three gold, three
