Following Sheikh Hasina's resignation in the wake of the Anti-Discrimination Students' Movement, several media outlets, including Somoy TV and Ekattor TV, were attacked and vandalized by angry mobs.

On Monday, the mob also damaged and set fire to several cars parked outside the ATN Bangla office in Karwan Bazar. They entered the ATN Bangla premises, causing disruptions to its normal operations, although broadcasting continued.
Additionally, a car was set ablaze outside ATN News, also in Karwan Bazar. Journalists reported that the office was ransacked, with chairs, tables, televisions, and computers destroyed.
At the Somoy Television office on Bir Uttam CR Dutta Road, vehicles on the ground floor were vandalized. The mob attempted to enter the building but was stopped by security guards.
Another car at the Independent Television office was damaged, and though the attackers tried to enter the premises, they were prevented from doing so by security personnel.
