Dhaka,  3 Sept - Bangladesh U-20 junior hockey team will begin their Junior Asia Cup Hockey campaign when they face hosts China in their opening Pool B match tomorrow in Moqi, China. The match will kick off at 3 pm Bangladesh time.

After adapting to the playing conditions and environment in Moqi, the team completed their final official training session today. All members of the squad are fully fit, with no injury concerns in the team, according to a message received here from the Bangladesh Hockey Federation today.

Ahead of the opening match, Bangladesh captain Mahmud Hasan said the team's preparation for the tournament has been good. He said the practice match against Japan helped the players prepare for the opening game.

"Initially, we made some mistakes, but eventually we were able to overcome them. I hope we'll play a good match from the very outset and be able to snatch victory," he said.

The Bangladesh captain admitted that China would enjoy the home advantage, but said the players are upbeat and determined to come away with victory as their main goal is to qualify for the Junior World Cup.

Bangladesh will play their second group match against Malaysia on September 6, followed by Kazakhstan on September 8, before taking on Pakistan in their final group match on September 9.BSS
