Bangladesh to compete in four disciplines tomorrow

Birmingham, UK, 28 July  - The curtain of 22nd Commonwealth Games set to be raised this Thursday evening at 8 pm (local time) in Birmingham through a gala opening ceremony at the Alexander Stadium.

However the athletes of Bangladesh start their mission from Friday morning with four exciting disciplines of an action-packed sports event.

The gymnasts will be the first to hit the pit. Shishir Ahmed, Abu Saeed Rafi, and Ali Kader Haque will compete in the men's team and all individual qualification-Sub 1,2,3. Their event will start at 9 am (local time) at the arena Birmingham.

In the swimming event, swimmer Mahamudun Nobi Nahid will compete in the 50m butterfly and Mst Morium Akter will take part in the heat of 50M breaststroke. The heat starts at 10:30 am (local time).

In the boxing event, boxers Hossan Ali, Sura Krishna Chakma, and Salim Hossain enter the ring for their matches in round of 32. Hossan Ali will compete in the over 63.5-67kg (welterweight) category and Sura Krishna Chakma take part in the over 60-63.5kg (light welterweight) category while Salim Hossain is vies in the over 54-57kg (featherweight) category. 

In the Table Tennis event, Mohutasin Ahmed Ridoy, Ramhimlian Bawm, Rifat Mahmud Sabbir and Mufradul Khair Hamza will compete in the men's team qualifying rounds 1,2,3. The matches start at 9:30 am at NEC hall 3.
