Insolvent sportsmen receive special donation

Dhaka, Sept  - A special donation of Taka three crore eighty eight lakh and thirty five thousand, given by "Bangabandhu Krirashebi Kalyan Foundation," a welfare foundation, has been distributed among the 7,767 insolvent sportsmen affected by COVID-19, said a press release.

 
Besides, a check of Taka five lakh, given by the Prime Minister, was also distributed to football coach Manik Mia for his medical treatment.
 
State Minister for Youth and Sports Mohammad Zahid Ahsan Russel, MP, today Wednesday distributed the checks for the special donation and medical assistance at the conference room of National Sports Council.
 
Youth and Sports Secretary Mesbah Uddin was also present there as the special guest on the occasion.
 
Speaking as the chief guest Russel said that just nine days before his martyrdom, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman established the 'Bangabandhu Krirashebi Kalyan Foundation' for the welfare of the insolvent sportsmen. Bangabandhu's daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is taking this institution ahead, built by Bangabandhu.
 
The State Minister expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Prime Minister for this and hoped this kind of cooperation would continue to support the athletes in this way in the future as well.
