Gaibandha police ends Kabadi League tournament

GAIBANDHA - District police-sponsored Kabadi League

ended on the ground of Gaibandha Police Lines on Saturday amid much
enthusiasm and festivity.

  The tournament was organised on the Mujib year, the birth centenary of
Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Golden Jubilee of
Independence, said a senior police official.

  In the final match, Gobindaganj thana Police team became champion defeating
Gaibandha Traffic Police Team.

  After the match, a function was arranged where Deputy Commissioner (DC)
Abdul Matin was present as the chief guest.

  Presided over by Superintendent of Police (SP) Muhammad Towhidul Islam, the
concluding ceremony was also addressed among others by President of Awami
League, district unit, Adv. Syed Shams-ul- Alam Hiru, General Secretary Abu
Bakar Siddique, Chairman of Sadar Upazila Parishad Shah Sarwar Kabir and
Mayor of Gaibandha Municipality Md. Matlubour Rahman while Traffic Inspector
(admin) Nur Alam Siddique Sohag moderated it.

  A total of 8 teams participated in the tournament, sources said.BSS
