Govt upholds country's sports to int'l arena: Rumana

Dhaka, 27 Feb - State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Rumana Ali today said the present government has upheld the country's sports to the international arena by achieving significant success in the field of sports.

"The government has taken the sports to a new height. Along with boys, girls have also achieved significant success in the field of sports. The women's football team has achieved the unique honor of becoming the champion in the 'SAFF Women's Championship 2022'," she said.

The state minister said this while addressing the opening ceremony of the national level Bangabandhu Gold Cup Primary School Football Tournament-2023 and Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Gold Cup Primary School Football Tournament-2023 at the playing field of Dhaka University (DU) as the chief guest.

With Director General (DG) of the Directorate of Primary Education (DPE) Shah Rezwan Hayat, the event was attended, among others, by Primary and Mass Education Secretary Farid Ahmed.
