Inter-district women’s athletics inaugurated

Dhaka, 8 March - Lutfun Nessa Hoque Bokul Under-15 Inter-district Women’s Athletics competition inaugurated Friday at Dhanmondi Sulnata Kamal Women’s Sports Complex in the city. 


Bangladesh Olympic Association’s Secretary General Syed Shahed Reza formally inaugurated the two-day meet as the chief guest.  
Bangladesh Women’s Sports Association’s (BWSA) president Mahbub Ara Begum Gini presided over the opening ceremony.


BWSA senior vice president Anjuman Ara Aksir and it’s acting general secretary engineer Firoza Karim Neli, were among others, also present in the opening ceremony
On the first day, Mosammat Rabeya Akter of Panchagarh district emerged top in the long jump event while Shahinur Akter of Kishorganj and Suha Mita of Lalmonirhat finished the second third position respectively. 


On the other hand, Mochammat Anika Khatun of Kurigram emerged top in discus event while Matonna Murari of Sirajganj and Jinnat of Kishorganj finished second and third position respectively.     


A total of 198 athletes and officials from 33 districts across the country are taking part in nine events – 100m 200m and 400m sprint and high jump, long jump, javelin throw, discus throw, shot put and 4x100m relay – of the competition, organised by BWSA.
