Independence Day Gymnastics Competition held

Dhaka, 27 Apr-The Independence Day Gymnastics Competition concluded at the National Sports Council Gymnasium in the city on Saturday. 

Bangladesh Police emerged champions in the men's section while Quantum Cosmo School and College emerged champions in the women's section.

Bangladesh Olympic Association secretary general Syed Shahed Reza was the chief guest in the closing ceremony and distributed the prizes, presided over by Bangladesh Gymnastics Federation (BGF) president Sheikh Bashir Ahmed.

Dr. Shoeb Reaz Alam, Deputy Inspector General of Bangladesh Police, BGF general secretary Habibur Rahman Jamil, it's vice president Ahmedur Rahman, among others, were also present on the occasion.

Nearly fifty men and women gymnasts from thirty five teams/clubs in junior-senior category including Bangladesh Krira Sshikkha Prothistan, Bangladesh Police, Quantum Cosmo School and College took part in the three-day meet, organized by BGF.

The competition was organized as a qualifier for the team selection of the Asian (senior and junior) Gymnastics Competition to be held in Uzbekistan on May 12-20.
