3 national athletes get medical assistance from PM

Dhaka, 30 May – Three national athletes have received Taka five lakhs each as medical assistance on behalf of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

The three athletes of Bangladesh Athletics Federation (BAF) received cheques of the medical assistance at the Prime Minister Office today.

Tofazzel Hossain Miah, principal secretary to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) and president of Bangladesh Athletics Federation (BAF), handed over the cheques to two former national athletes M Boni Amin and Runa Laila, and current high jump national athlete Umme Hafsa Rumki on behalf of sports friendly Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

BAF vice president Mohammad Zayedul Alam and its general secretary advocate Abdur Rakib (Montu) were also present at this time.

A few days ago, national award winning former athlete Rowshan Akter Chobi, national award winning former athlete Sufia Khatun, national award winning former athlete Farid Khan Chowdhury’s wife and former athlete A Kamal were given medical assistance by the prime minister in continuation of support to athletics.
During the cheque handing over ceremony, principal secretary Tofazzel Hossain Miah hoped that the prime minister would provide support through the federation to the distressed and indigent former and current athletes.
