Three players share lead in open section after 4th round

Dhaka, 18 Feb - Three players are sharing the lead in  open section of 40th National Junior (Under-20) Chess Championships with maximum four points after the fourth round games held today (Friday) at Bangladesh Chess Federation hall room.

They are CM Manon Reja Neer of Bangladesh Police, WFM Noshin Anjum of Bangladesh Navy and Swarnavo Choudhury of Bangladesh Ansar.

Three players are sharing the second position with 3.5 points. They are FM Tahsin Tajwazr Zia of Bangladesh Ansar, FM Subrota Biswas of Bangladesh Navy and Azmaeen Parvez Sayor.

On the other hand, WCM Ahmed Walijah Bangladesh Navy took joint lead in the girl’s section with maximum four points after the fourth round games while WFM Jannatul Ferdous and Omnia Binte Yousuf Lubaba of Chattogram are sharing the second position with 3.5 points.

In the day’s fourth round matches of open section CM Manon beat Mohammed Sagar Ullah of Cox’s Bazar, WFM Noshin beat Dibya Das Gupta of Chattogram, FM Tahsin beat Mortuza Mahathir Islam. FM Subrota beat Sajib Das of Chattogram and Sayor beat Mahin Ahmed Shuvo.

While in girl’s section, WCM Walijah beat her team mate Kazi Zarin Tasnim, WCM Jannat beat her team mate Nusrat Jahan Alo and Lubaba beat Jannatul Ferdousi of Rajshahi.

The fifth round games of both sections start tomorrow (Saturday) from 3 PM at the same venue.
