Dhaka, 19 Feb - CM Manon Reja Neer of Bangladesh Police now took solo lead in the Open section of 40th National Junior (Under-20) Chess Championships with maximum five points after the fifth round games now being held at Bangladesh Chess Federation hall room of National Sports Council old building in the city.
FM Tahsin Tajwazr Zia of Bangladesh Ansar and FM Subrota Biswas of Bangladesh Navy shared the second position closely with 4.5 points.
Mine players are sharing the third position with four points. They are WFM Noshin Anjum of Bangladesh Navy, Sakline Mostafa Sajid of Pabna, Swarnavo Choudhury of Bangladesh Ansar, Sibya Das Gupta of Chattogram, Mortuza Mahathir Islam of Narayanganj, Tahmidul Haque, Justin Matthias Baroi, Souradip Datta and Kazi Afsan Rawank Anan.
WCM Ahmed Walijah Bangladesh Navy took solo lead is the girl's section with maximum five points after the fifth round games.
Kazi Zarin Tasnim of Bangladesh Navy and Israt Jahan Diba of Bangladesh Police shared the second position with four points.
Five players are sharing the third position with 3.5 points. They are WCM Zannatul Ferdous and Nusrat Jahan Alo of Bangladesh Police, Wadifa Ahmed of Bangladesh Navy, Omnia Binte Yousuf Lubaba of Chattogram and Mehjabin Akter Jubaida of Pabna.
The fifth round matches of both sections were held Saturday with in the open section CM Manon beat WFM Noshin, FM Soubrota beat Swarnavo, FM Tahsin beat Azmaeen Parvez Sayor, Sajid beat Anower Hossain, Justin beat Mohammed Sagar Ullah, Dibya Das beat Mortuza Muhtadi Islam, Mahathir beat Siam Chowdhury, Afsan beat Sajidul Haque, Tahmis beat Aiyan Rahman and Sourapid defeated Mohammad Shafiqul Islam.
While in girl's section, WCM Walijah beat WCM Jannat, Zarin defeated Lubaba, Diba outclassed Yasnia Tarannum Orpa, Alo beat Marzuka Mukarrama, Wadifa defeated Jannatul Ferdousi and Jubaida beat Opsora Ali Khan.
The sixth round games of both sections start tomorrow (Sunday) from 3 pm at the same venue.
