National Youth Archery begins

Dhaka, 18 Oct - Sixth National Youth Archery Championship has begun here today (Friday) at the training center of Shaheed Ahsan Ullah Master Stadium in Togi.

Four bronze medal matches decided on the first day after the recurve elimination round team event.

Najib Sporting Club won the bronze medal in the boys’ U-21 category beating Chudanaga Archery Club by 6-0 set.

In the girls’ event, Najib Sporting Club also won the bronze medal defeating Boys Union by 6-2 set.

In the U-15 category recurve division boys’ team event, Faridpur District Sports Association (DSA) defeated Chudanga Archery Club by 6-2 set to win bronze medal.

In the girls’ section Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Prothistan won the bronze medal beating Faridpur DSA by 6-0 set.

Different district sports associations, service associations, institutions and club archery teams across the country are participating in the three-day meet, organised by Bangladesh Archery Federation and sponsored by City Group.


City Group executive director (marketing and sales) Jafar Uddin Siddique formally inaugurated the meet as the chief guest.
