Women's hockey team off to Oman

Dhaka, 4 Dec - Bangladesh women's hockey team will leave here Wednesday for Oman to participate in the ninth edition of Women's Hockey Junior Asia Cup scheduled to be held from December 7-15 in Muscat.

The junior women's team, who qualified as Women's Junior AHF Cup 2024 runners-up in Singapore, have been placed in Group A along with China, defending champions India, Thailand, and Malaysia.

Bangladesh will start their tournament campaign taking on China on December 7 and meet India on December 8.

Bangladesh will play their remaining group A matches against Thailand and Malaysia on December 10 and 11 respectively.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh U-21 men's hockey team created history as they qualified for the FIH Hockey Junior World Cup for the first time after thrashing Thailand by 7-2 goals in the Junior Asia Cup held in Muscat today (Tuesday).
