BAF 1st ad-hoc committee's meeting held

Dhaka, 7 Dec - The Bangladesh Athletics Federation (BAF) new ad-
hoc committee's first meeting was held on Friday last at the conference room
of Bangabandhu National Stadium (BNS.

BAF president Major General (retd) Dr Nayeem Ashfaque Chowdhury presided over
the meeting, completed formation of different committees and subcommittees, a
BNS press release said here today.

A committee has been formed in the meeting to prepare the list in various
categories of former and currently active athletes, coaches and organisers
under the federation.

The meeting formed calendar preparation committee for annual sports and
regular training. For the development of athletics, a committee has been
formed to formulate a plan according to the guidelines of World Athletics
with the aim of involving the children and youth of Bangladesh in athletics.

The meeting also formed a finance sub-committee, training and selection sub-
committee, liaison and sponsors sub-committee, inventory sub-committee, media
sub-committee, evaluation sub-committee and a future planning sub-committee
for the overall development of the federation.

At the beginning of the formal meeting, one minute silence was observed
paying respect to all the martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the July-
August mass uprising.

Earlier, the National Sports Council dissolved the existing executive
committee of the BAF on November 14 last and appointed a new ad-hoc committee
to run the federation activities.
