Participation in sports stressed for physical, mental well-being

Rangpur, 11 Feb  – Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Rangpur, Mohammad Rabiul Faisal, said that people should regularly participate in sports for their mental and physical well-being.

 
“Sports instill a sense of discipline and unity among people and enhance leadership skills,” he said, urging the students to acquire skills in sports along with their studies.
 
The DC made the remarks at the inaugural function of the Primary School Gold Cup Football Tournament (Boys and Girls) arranged, marking the ‘Youth Festival 2025’ at the district level as the chief guest at Rangpur Stadium in the city today.
 
Earlier, the chief guest with other guests and officials inaugurated the tournament by releasing balloons.
 
The tournament is being organized by the Rangpur District Administration and District Primary Education Office.
 
The inauguration ceremony was presided over by District Primary Education Officer Md Nazrul Islam.
 
Divisional Deputy Director of the Directorate of Primary Education Md Azizur Rahman, Rangpur Superintendent of Police Abu Md Saim addressed the function as special guests.
 
Government officials, teachers, students, guardians and journalists were present at the ceremony.
 
Nine boys' teams and nine girls' teams from eight upazilas of the district and Rangpur City Corporation are participating in this tournament.BSS
