However, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) later confirmed that neither the object contained explosives or posed any security threat.

Following reports from the public, local police, senior DMP officials, and the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC), Bomb Disposal Unit swiftly responded to both locations, cordoned off the areas, and carried out precautionary security measures.

At Mirpur-10 Metro Station, bomb disposal experts examined a suspicious bag using an X-ray scanner, which detected a canister-shaped object inside. 

In line with standard operating procedures (SOPs), the team deployed a frangible disruptor to safely neutralize the suspected device before opening the bag. 

The inspection revealed that the bag contained only a container of zarda (chewing tobacco) and betel leaf, with no explosives or hazardous materials.

In a separate incident near Farmgate, under Tejgaon Police Station, authorities responded to a discarded sack that had raised concerns among passersby. 

After securing the area, the Bomb Disposal Unit conducted a controlled hand-entry inspection and confirmed that the sack contained no explosive or dangerous substances.

The DMP emphasized that the incidents were handled in accordance with established safety protocols and praised the rapid response of its bomb disposal personnel. 

Police also urged the public to remain vigilant but avoid panic, encouraging citizens to immediately report any suspicious objects or unattended items to law enforcement for prompt assessment and action, reports BSS.
