Detectives of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) took Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury, chairman of private television channel DBC, and its reporter Rajib Ghosh into custody on Wednesday.

A team of the Detective Branch (DB) picked them up from the DBC office in the city's Mohakhali area in the afternoon.

Iqbal Sobhan, also the former information adviser to ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, and Rajib were taken to the DB office on Minto Road over the broadcast of a news report, said DMP Deputy Commissioner (Media) Akhtar Hossain.

He said officials were talking to them at there.

The DMP official, however, said he did not have further details about the incident and more information would be available later, reports UNB.
