Teacher murder: Father of accused student arrested

Police has arrested Uzzal Hossain, father of Ashraful Islam Jitu who allegedly killed Utpal Kumar Sarker, a teacher of Hazi Yunus Ali School and College at Ashulia.

Police has arrested Uzzal Hossain, father of Ashraful Islam Jitu who allegedly killed Utpal Kumar Sarker, a teacher of Hazi Yunus Ali School and College at Ashulia.
Police arrested him from Kumarkhali in Kushtia early Wednesday.
Officer-in-Charge of Ashulia Thana HM Kamruzzaman confirmed this on Wednesday morning.
Police said Uzzal Hossain helped his son to flee.
On June 25, lecturer of the Humanities Department Utpal Kumar Sarker was critically beaten by Jitu on the college campus. The teacher was admitted to Enam Medical College Hospital where he died on June 27.
Later, the deceased's elder brother Asim Kumar Sarker filed a murder case with Ashulia Thana.
