55kg missing gold: Case transferred to DB

The case filed over 55 kilograms of gold stolen from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport’s Customs House’s warehouse has been transferred to DB .



The case filed over 55 kilograms of gold stolen from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport’s Customs House’s warehouse has been transferred to the Detective Branch (DB) of police for further investigation.

Confirming the matter on Wednesday (September 6) noon, DB chief and Additional Police Commissioner Harun Or Rashid said the case was transferred to DB from Airport Police Station on Tuesday (September 5) night. DB Uttara Division will investigate the case.

Mentionable, some 55 kilograms of gold, which is worth over Tk15 crore, were stolen from a Customs House’s warehouse at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Sunday (September 3).

Customs authority lodged a case in connection with the missing gold.

On behalf of the customs, an investigation committee was formed over the gold missing incident.
