Dhaka, Dec 27 - The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on wednesday arrested two activists of the Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) allegedly along with a huge cache of explosives from Shyampur Palpara area of Kadamtali in the city.

They were identified as Md Nayan, 22, and Al Amin, 23. Both are activists of the JCD.

RAB said that they were allegedly involved in acts of sabotage in Dhaka Metropolitan South. To set fire to cars, they used their motorcycles to collect fuel from pumps and made petrol bombs.

The anti-crime agency said 13 crude bombs, 15 petrol bombs, gun powder, glass-powder and cocktail-making equipment were recovered from them.

RAB-10 Commanding Officer Additional DIG Farid Uddin disclosed the information at a press conference at RAB-10 CPC-1 office in the capital's Jatrabari on Wednesday.

Farid said they had been making petrol bombs and cocktails at the behest of local BNP and Jubo Dal leaders and supplying them at different times as per their demand.

The commander also said that there are several cases of sabotage, theft and fighting against Nayan with Kadamtali Police Station in the capital.

Proceedings were underway to take legal action against them, he said. - UNB
