BGB detains 2 with 20 gold bars in Joypurhat.



Joypurhat, Mar 30 -Members of Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB) arrested two people with 20 gold bars worth Tk 2.30 crore from Uchna in Panchbibi upazila of Joypurhat district on Friday.

The arrestees were identified as Abdul Wahab, 42, and Mehedi Hasan Pappu, 26.

Tipped off, a team of BGB-20 led by Hatkhola BoP patrol team commander Nayek Atoar Rahman, conducted a drive near 281/32 pillar of the border area and arrested two people with the gold bars.

The border guards also seized one motorbike, two SIM cards and mobile phone sets from their possession.

Later, they were handed over to the local police station. - UNB
