Madrasa super arrested for ‘sexually harassing’ child in Khulna

Khulna, May 18 - Police arrested superintendent of Shaheed Sheikh Abu Naser Dakhil Madrasa from Sonadanga in Khulna on Friday on allegation of molesting a class iii (3) child.

Earlier on Friday morning, the child's father filed a case against the madrasa super Hasibur Rahman Hasib under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act at Sonadanga police station.

The child is currently under the care of the Victim Support Center.

According to police and family members of the victim, the child and her brother used to go to the madrasa teacher's house for taking private tutoring every night.

On Thursday night, the accused allegedly sent the child's brother away and molested the child.

Upon returning home, the child cried and disclosed the matter to her mother.

Locals protested the incident in front of the teacher's house at night.

Uttam Kumar Mitra, a sub-inspector and investigating officer of Sonadanga Police Station, said that the accused was arrested from his residence in the afternoon and he will be sent to jail through court proceedings.-UNB
