DB arrests mastermind of certificate forgery
Dhaka, July 14 - The Detective Branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DB) arrested the mastermind of a criminal gang who was selling forged academic certificates.
The arrestee Abu Zafar, 31, used to sell fake certificates of City University and America Bangladesh University.
Cyber and Special Crime Department (South) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police conducted a drive on Friday and arrested Zafar, DMP additional commissioner Harun-or-Rashid confirmed the matter on Sunday afternoon.
Harun-or-Rashid, also the DB chief, said IT experts, a former teacher and an office assistant of America Bangladesh University, might have been involved in this racket.
Earlier, a case was filed in Tejgaon Police Station on May 26 following a complaint lodged by City University Register Professor Mir Shaukat Ali.-UNB
