14 more cases filed, 243 arrested over recent violence: DMP

Fourteen more cases have been filed in connection with the quota movement clashes in Dhaka over the last 24 hours till 6am on Monday.

With this, a total of 243 cases have been recorded in different police stations under Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), Assistant Commissioner (AC-media) of the DMP Jahangir Kabir said.
Moreover, fifty-eight people have been arrested from different areas of Dhaka during the period, he said, adding that 2, 822 people have so far been arrested over the recent violence.
The country witnessed a massive violence centring the quota reform movement in government job across the country recently, reports UNB.
Though several media reported over 200 deaths in the violence, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal on Sunday claimed only 147 people died.
