Police Headquarters announced that 534 looted weapons of various types have been recovered following recent violence targeting police stations and offices. Additionally, 10,219 rounds of bullets, 359 teargas shells, and 142 stun grenades were also retrieved.

The violence erupted during mass student-led protests, where numerous police stations and offices across the country were attacked and looted after law enforcement opened fire on protesters, resulting in numerous deaths.
Over 500 people, including 42 police officers, were killed in the unrest, which ultimately led to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina resigning and fleeing the country on August 5.
