Dhaka, August 19- The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested former Deputy Minister for Youth and Sports, Arif Khan Joy. This information was shared through a brief message from the DMP's public relations branch.

According to the DMP's statement, Arif Khan Joy was arrested on Monday night in the Dhanmondi area of the capital. He was detained in connection with a murder case filed at Mohammadpur Police Station.

Arif Khan Joy was elected as a Member of Parliament from the Netrakona-2 constituency on an Awami League ticket in 2014. Following his election, the former national football team captain was appointed as the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Youth and Sports. He served in this role for four years but did not receive the Awami League nomination in the 2018 election. - UNB
