The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested former lawmaker Abdus Salam Murshedy in Dhaka on Tuesday night.

Murshedy, who served as the MP for Khulna-4, was apprehended in the Bashundhara Residential Area. His arrest is linked to a murder case from 2022 in the Phultola area of Khulna.

In addition to his political career, Murshedy was also the senior vice-president of the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) since 2008. He resigned from this position on August 8, just three days after the Sheikh Hasina-led government faced a student-led mass uprising.
