Dhaka, Oct 19 - Kamal Ahmed Mojumder, former State Minister for Industries under the Awami League government, has been arrested in connection with a murder case related to the anti-quota reform student movement.

Majumder, who also owns SS Agro Complex and previously served as the Member of Parliament for Dhaka-15 constituency, was picked up from a residence in Gulshan, according to the police.

Kamal Ahmed Mojumder had gone into hiding along with other ministers and parliamentarians after former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina left the country on August 5.

Police said  Mojumder is facing multiple charges, with several cases already filed against him.

The former state minister’s arrest is linked to the murder case filed with Kafrul Police Station, regarding the killing of a student during the quota reform movement.
